7. Brutis: Protected Child From Snakebite

This amazing golden retriever stopped a venomous snake as it was inching closer to a young child. Brutis, as she is called, seized the snake and dashed with it before it could get to the boy. While the child escaped unscathed, poor Brutis was bitten. Luckily, he made a full recovery.

This incredibly heroic canine was awarded the National Hero Dog award. The committee who awarded the medal said, “when we give an award like this, we’re looking for something extra, something that would make people wonder why a dog would do what he did.” And Brutis surely did that something extra!
