Figo is a Golden Retriever from Brewster, New York, who acts as a guide dog to his visually challenged owner, Audrey Stone. One day, while crossing a road, the retriever flung himself in front of a school bus to protect Stone.

Despite being badly injured with a broken paw, the dog crawled over to a hurt Stone to make sure she was alright. A possibly fatal accident was averted due to Figo’s bravery. The retriever took 4 months to recover and was honored as ASPCA’s Dog of the Year, 2015.
