Height Is Might In Basketball, But Not For These Shortest NBA Players

Mel Hirsch

#3 Mel Hirsch

Hirsch is probably the oldest name on the list, older than even the name NBA!

He played only one season for the Boston Celtics in 1946-47, when the NBA was known as the Basketball Association of America.

His 5’6” height was the shortest in NBA history till Bogues arrived at the scene over four decades later. Before his stint as a basketball player, he served as a Navigator in the US Army Air Corps as well!
