As the world grows more and more connected, it has become easier to compare what other countries are charging for the services available in your homeground. And the stark contrast between medical costs in different countries has led to the rise of medical tourism in the last 20 years.
Countries with exorbitantly high medical costs like the US and UK are now choosing to travel to countries like India, where the quality of medical care is quite high but costs are low.
In fact, the costs are so low that it’s cheaper for many Americans to take a flight to India, get a medical procedure done, and fly back than to pay the fee for the same procedure in the US!
