25 Foods That You Should Never Feed Your Cat

Avocado

#22 Avocado

Avocado is a fleshy fruit and is great for digestion and reduces the risk of depression and even cancer. Typically, it is considered a safe fruit for pets, including cats. However, it is imperative to put a check on the quantity consumed as high dosage may be potentially harmful to your feline friend.

Avocado has high-fat content in it which may cause diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal problems in cats. Further, the stem, peel, leaves and pit of an avocado contain an organic compound called Persin, which may lead to poisoning in cats.

Hence, it’s recommended that you feed only the fleshy part of avocado to your cat, that too occasionally in small quantities.
